This Sunday, we celebrate Corpus Christi – the feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus, given to us in the Eucharist at each Mass. The first reading comes from Genesis 14:18-20 (when Abraham met with Melchizedek, priest and king of Salem, who prayed for him and offered bread and wine), the responsorial Psalm is 110 (You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek), the second reading is 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (St. Paul passed on what he had received, the offering of bread and wine as the Body and Blood of Christ), and the Gospel is Luke 9:11b-17 (the miracle of the loaves and fish).
The full text of the readings is available on the USCCB website, which you can read by clicking here.
