Holy Week Celebrations – Diocese schedule

As per our post on March 25, 2020, our church must remain closed in accordance with the NWT Public Health Officer’s recommendations. This is disappointing but we can take strength from knowing that we are joined by Catholics worldwide facing similar difficulties and that this hardship allows us to be witnesses to the Grace of God even in the most trying times.

Our parish has been live streaming Sunday Masses for the past two weeks on Facebook and will be live streaming Easter Sunday Mass at 10:30am.

Daily masses are live streamed on the Diocese of Mackenzie-Fort Smith Facebook page. Holy Week celebrations will only be live streamed on the Diocese Facebook page.

Here is the schedule for Holy Week celebrations on the Diocese Facebook page:
Daily Mass continues: 7:30am followed by the Lenten Retreat Series
Palm Sunday: 11:00am
Holy Thursday: 7:00pm
Good Friday: 3:00pm
Easter Vigil (Saturday): 9:00pm
Easter Sunday: 11:00am

Please note that the Chrism Mass, which usually takes place in St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral in Yellowknife during our diocesan gathering in the spring, has been postponed until September.

The collection for the Holy Land, usually taken up on Good Friday, will also be postponed until September.
