Holy Week

This Sunday, March 24, is Palm Sunday (or Passion Sunday), a day the Church commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and His subsequent Passion. It marks the beginning of Holy Week.

Palms will be blessed and distributed to those who attend the Mass – this symbolizes our desire to accompany Christ through Holy Week and Jesus’ desire to enter our homes and accompany us on our life’s journey.

The schedule for Palm Sunday Masses is as follows*:

  • Saturday, March 23: 1700h Mass
  • Sunday, March 24: 1030h Mass
  • Sunday, March 24: 1330h Mass at St Ann’s, K’atl’odeeche

The schedule for the Triduum celebrations is as follows*:

  • Thursday, March 28: 1900h Mass of the Passover [feet will be washed at this Mass and those who wish to participate in it should come prepared]
  • Friday, March 29: 1500h Commemoration of the Passion of the Lord
  • Saturday, March 30: 2000h Vigil Mass of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus
  • Sunday, March 31: 1030h Mass of the Resurrection of our Lord
  • Sunday, March 31: 1330h Mass of the Resurrection of our Lord at St Ann’s, K’atl’odeeche
